Muslim Students Protest As Christian Student Slanders The Prophet

Muslim Students in Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto  protested following the slandering of the prophet of Islam by a christian student in the University campus.

The incident which occurred at around 9:00pm at I-block Male hostel of the university main campus inflicted several strong hearted views and opinion in the mindset of Muslim students as they saw the incidence as sacrilege.

There were attempts by the angry student mob to beat the affected student who was later rescued by security agents after he ran helter-skelter finding rescue team until he ran into the female hostel where security agents intervened and saved him.

He was taken out of the hostel to the VC's complex for safety but the activities of the angry student mob kept waxing stronger. Knowing that the security of the whole University could not be guaranteed as student kept protesting,  security agents took the affected student out of campus to a nearby police station in the city of Sokoto.

to stop further unrest or riot, knowing the level of Islamaphobia in the country and the world at large.

The University Christian Chapel (UCC), Usman Danfodiyo University chapter strongly condemned the slandering of the holy prophet imploring the Muslim students to let peace reign
