Nigeria Police Force Begin Recruitment of 10, 000 Nigerians

The recruitment of ten thousand policemen by the police service commission begins nationwide today.

President Muhammadu Buhari had last year at the National Security Summit in Abuja directed the force to recruit 10, 000 Nigerians into the service to address the shortfall in the manpower need of the police.

 The Police Service Commission Chairman, Mike Okiro, warned the commission’s workers, involved in the screening of candidates, to avoid any act that might compromise the integrity of the exercise.
According to Okiro N8.6 billion will be needed for the recruitment of 10,000 officers in the Nigerian Police Force. The PSC chairman, Mike Okiro made the disclosure at a public hearing organised by the House of Representatives’ Committee on Police Affairs on Thursday, January 14.
