50 Senators Have Ordered for “Made in Nigeria Cars”-Ben Bruce

No fewer than 50 senators have ordered for  “Made in Nigeria” cars from Innoson, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has said.

Ben Bruce who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Privatization disclosed this at the public presentation of his book, “Common Sense as the pathway for unleashing Nigeria’s greatness” to mark his 60th birthday in Lagos on Friday.

He said that the 50 senators had bought into the new revolution to patronise locally made products and that they had begun with the purchase of new cars.

Ben Bruce who had already purchased three cars from Innoson said that each of the vehicles cost N3.6 Million. 

According to him, to import each of the vehicle to Nigeria will cost about  $10, 000 but with INNOSON “Made in Nigeria “car the cost has been reduced.

Thanking the personalities that had come to celbrate with him, Ben Bruce said, “I have been around for a long time. All my life I have always wanted to be a politician. My love is for politics and today I’m a politician and I love it.”

On "Made in Nigeria" campaign, the senator disclosed that the Bow Tie he was wearing was actually made in Nigeria by one man called David Lawal.

Calling on Nigerians to patronise locally made goods, he said “For Nigerians to be prosperous, Nigerians will have to buy their own locally made goods. Nobody will buy our products unless we buy it and show to the world what we've got”

He bemoaned a situation where Nigerians trade blames instead of addressing the economic problems, adding that such behaviour must stop. We attack ourselves too much. This must stop,” Ben Bruce says.

Besides the fact tha the book was given free to everybody that attended the event free, the senator also made it free to download online. 

Representing President Olusegun Obasanjo, the former Governor of Cross Rivers State, Donald Duke summarized the book as patriotism. He said "What makes Ben Bruce special is his patriotic zeal."

As exposed as Ben Bruce is, his heart is always for Nigeria. Ben said to me that the book will be distributed free and so he has done today."
